You need to work on...

The Fundamentals

Perhaps you have just started playing, or it has been a long time since you last played seriously. Either way, you are at the start of your clarinet journey.

I am so glad that you are here! It is so much easier to learn how to do things properly from the beginning rather than fixing bad habits later.

At this point, here are some of the things you're probably struggling with:

  • Occasional squeaking and other unexpected sounds.
  • Getting notes to come out consistently.
  • Getting a clear and full sound.
  • Playing notes in the higher register.
  • Crossing the "break".
  • Understanding how to articulate.
  • Making a proper embouchure.
  • Remembering fingerings.

If that sounds familiar, that's because I remember what it was like. Also, I have worked with many students who are at the same level you are!

This is an exciting time filled with new information, but it can be overwhelming. Don't worry; the more time you spend working through this new information, the better you will become!

Now you know where you're at. But, what's next?

My mission is to help as many clarinetists as possible, not just learn how to play correctly, but to have a concrete path for putting that knowledge into action.

I have many resources, most of which are free, that I would love to send you more information about! Just put in your name and email below and I will send you my best resources customized specifically for where you are in your clarinet journey!
