Frequently Asked Questions

That is totally understandable, but don't worry each day a new video will be posted, but once the video is posted it will be up and you will have access to it forever.

There will also be one day at the end of each week for taking a break, or catching up on anything you missed, or anything you want to practice more.

That being said, I would encourage you to attend the live Q&A's as much as possible. They will most likely be on Saturdays. We will work out times to best accommodate as many people as possible. However, even if you won't be able to make those, you will still have the opportunity to send in your questions beforehand, and there will be a replay of the live sessions available forever in the challenge page.

Yes! I have designed the challenge to start at the very beginning. The very first lesson is how to put the clarinet together, but we move fast from there.

Yes, the fundamentals are the same from beginner to pro. Even though we may be starting with very simple exercises like starting a note, I will go very in-depth in ways that will be useful to players of all levels. And by the end, you will be designing your own warm-up and practice routines tailored to exactly what you want to work on.

Plus, you can take charge of your own learning by asking the questions you want answered in the weekly live Q&A sessions.

Congratulations on having a teacher! That is one of the best ways to learn and it shows that you are serious about studying the clarinet!

I have taught lessons myself for several years, and to be honest, it typically takes up to two years of weekly lessons to cover everything in this challenge.

You may learn all of this in your lessons eventually, but this is going to supercharge your learning, and I bet your teacher will be impressed with your improvement as well.

YouTube is a great way to get preliminary information about clarinet playing. However, there is little information or motivation to actually implement the knowledge. Plus, it is difficult to know what you're looking for and find it in the millions of videos.

Also, this challenge is more than just videos! You'll have me motivating and holding you accountable, a complete method book, live Q&A sessions, and your own personal practice plan for continued success.

No problem! Send an email to [email protected] with any questions you still have. I really think there is potential in this challenge to skyrocket your playing, and I don't want any questions or concerns you have to get in the way of you taking the challenge!

Not ready for the challenge?

I completely understand that you may not be in a position to get the most out of this challenge right now, and that is totally fine! You should do what you think will be best for you. If you are just scared of taking the risk that is a completely different problem, but I do want to help you with your clarinet playing as much as I can!

What is The Next Generation Clarinet Method?

There are so many different clarinet methods, etudes, and studies, but few of them do a good job of explaining how to play the clarinet well and how to really get the most out of the exercises.

It's like they assume you will have a great teacher guiding you through it, but that is simply not possible for everybody.

My goal in The Next Generation Clarinet Method is to reorganize and refocus the clarinet method. I want to make the fundamentals of great playing simple and clear as well as provide a focused path to develop those fundamentals to a master level.

This book covers all of the basics then brings those together into daily warm-ups that improve the clarinet playing. Later on in the book, everything is put to the test throughout a series of progressive etudes that teach the fundamentals of musicianship.

Are you up to the challenge?

  • 30 days of focusing on the clarinet.
  • On average, 30 minutes of training and 30 minutes of practice assignments each day.
  • Live Q&A every week to ensure mastery.

The more you put in the more you will learn, and the faster you will improve!
